Personal Housing Expenses
A loan helped to buy metal sheeting for her home.
María Gloria's story
María is married and has a family. She lives with her husband and children, two boys and four girls, only two of whom go to school. They live in the small town of San Carlos Nahuala, San Antonio.
To bring up her family, María runs a business selling traditional clothing which she sells in her town and in neighbouring areas. Her stall is located in San Antonio and she has worked in this industry for five years. Her husband also helps her with an income so together they can bring up their family.
The reason behind this loan is to buy metal sheeting to build a better roof for her home. Her goals are to strengthen and expand her business, have her own store and make home improvements.
This loan is special because:
It targets low-income borrowers who can't access typical microfinance loans.
